No New Mega Man game is Planned for its 25th Anniversary

Despite recent retro releases for Mega Man 9 and 10, there have been no announcements of a new game or even HD collection from Capcom. In fact, Senior Vice President Christian Svensson had this to say:

Thanks for being reasonable. In December “some but not all” plans for the coming year of celebrations will be shared. There are many moving parts and not everything will be done and final come December. No one has promised a game or even an announcement of one at that time. Please do keep expectations in check.

Whether because of the console transition, game development timetable delay or other mix up, the fact is there is not going to be another Mega Man game has made some fans who were angry at the cancelling of other projects more incensed. Also, Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune left the company.

On a side note: at least, Senior Vice President Christian Svensson is playing New Super Mario Bros 2, Dungeon Fighter Online, Orcs Must Die 2, DOTA 2 and Fancy Pants Adventure, all non-Capcom games.

Does anybody think this guy will return again?
