Blizzard have announced that they are preparing to begin beta testing Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm. The beta will be focused on the multiplayer experience only and will start with a specific group of players including 'players who assisted us in testing Patch 1.5, as well as some pro-gamers and press.' Blizzard said that they would later
invite more testers and will also be working with certain fan-sites and community personalities to give away more entries to the beta.
Here is Blizzard's advice for players wanting to take part in the beta experience:
“If you are interested in participating in the beta test, please make sure you are opted in for beta testing. You can do this by clicking “Beta Profile Settings” under the Account Management section of your Battle.net account. Note that the opt-in doesn't guarantee entry, but gives you a chance at joining the beta test.”
Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is the second in a trilogy of real-time strategy games that began with Wings of Liberty. Blizzard have yet to confirm a solid release date.
