Last week we came across a very intriguing Rumor regarding GameStop selling Steam vouchers. To update everyone, the rumor has been confirmed, and GameStop will indeed sell Steam vouchers in their stores. The Steam Wallet, as it’s being called, will be sold in more than 4,400 stores across the United States. Much like their X Box Live Arcade and Playstation Network counterparts, the Steam Wallet codes will be sold in $20 and $50 denotations.

Although GameStop is a direct competitor of Steam, Steve Nix, GameStop’s GM of Digital Distribution said of the deal, “We are thrilled to be partnering with Valve on this new initiative, this gives even more options to customers now that they can put money in their Steam Wallet using cash, gift cards or trade credits through our convenient neighborhood locations.”

“GameStop is the most recognized game retailer in the world and a leader in providing a state-of-the-art shopping experience for its customers,” said Jason Holtman, Valve’s Director of Business Development. “Offering Steam Wallet codes at GameStop extends more options and convenience to gamers around to the world.”

So what say you Nation? What do you make of the deal? Chime in with your comments below.
