Well this weekend is certainly keeping us on our toes trying to find everything, weekends are supposed to be a journalist days of rest.
Anyway, for those who don’t know Gametrailers has a TV show that runs in the states on Spike TV and they recently did an episode on Far Cry 3, bringing with it is a couple of new gameplay trailers.
The first is a ransom type trailer which is above. The trailer seems to be voiced over by the main antagonist Vaas. The man who plays Vaas in this video certainly deserves a round of applause as it did have us a bit unsettled as we knew he was insane, but we also can’t help but sympathize with him for some real odd reason, he’s almost hypnotic. It has us thinking of Heath Ledgers “Joker” more than anything and we can’t wait to find out more about him.
The second video is more gameplay orientated which can be found above. However contrary to the first video it doesn’t leave us in the greatest of moods. Far Cry is usually this really big sprawling game that allows for exploration, certain interviews have had us on edge as they do hint towards more linearity than the previous games, the video is very linear with forced camera perspectives and seemingly taken control away from the player numerous times, it leaves me hoping that the rest of the game is not like this. To be fair this is a small section of the game so we shouldn’t make a snap judgement just yet.
The game is scheduled for release September 4th in the US and 7th in the UK, available for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360
