THQ & Relic today published a press release officially announcing Company Of Heroes 2, and it’s set to release early next year. The setting is moving from the common Western Front of World War 2 to the brutal conflicts that took place on the Eastern Front between the Red Army and the Nazi Invaders. The game will utilize state of the art proprietary Essence 3.0 Engine, bringing a new level of technological premiss to the RTS market. Sporting dynamic battle tactics, increased graphical fidelity and new environmental destruction, all while putting the player back in charge of new commander abilities.

The original Company Of Heroes released back in 2006 and remains one of the highest rated PC exclusives of all time, so there’s high hopes for the lon awaited sequel. THQ have already promised post-release DLC support which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise in this day and age, but let’s hope it’s in the form of fully-fledged expansions like the previous title in the series. Company Of Heroes 2 looks to arrive in early 2013, published by THQ, and developed by Relic.
