by

Ubisoft announced today that Assassin’s Creed III will have a $30 “Season Pass” available for download, which will include a large single-player add-on called The Tyranny of King George.  The new additional campaign will be delivered in three parts.  This is what Ubisoft had to say:

As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the colonies, the Revolution’s greatest hero, George Washington succumbs to the temptation of infinite power.  The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend.

The new Tyranny of King George campaign can be purchased separately from the Season Pass, however Ubisoft has also included five pieces of DLC , which will include new multiplayer maps and characters.  The Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass will be available for purchase for 2400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live, or $29.99 on the PlaystationNetwork.  No word has been revealed at this time as to whether or not the Season Pass will be available for Wii U users, however the Wii U version of the game will support all downloadable content.  Assassin’s Creed III will be available on October 30 for the PS3, and Xbox 360; and it will be out on the Wii U and PC November 20.
