might and magic x legacy logo

Ubisoft has quite a lot of stuff at PAX East this year and one title that might not get as much as attention as say Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag or Tom Clancey’s Splintercell Blacklist (but nevertheless looks great) is Might & Magic X Legacy.  If you have been a fan of the Might & Magic RPG series, make sure to take a look as it contains “both the unique core formula and a new set of improved and fine-tuned features”.

In the wake of the spectacular events in Might & Magic® Heroes® VI, you will play in a party of four adventurers entangled in intrigue and political machinations unfolding in and around Karthal.  The city, on the verge of secession, is prey to competing factions vying for its control.  Your actions will determine the fate of the city.  Might & Magic X Legacy is an authentic solo experience in the classic first-person RPG genre.

I was obsessed with mm3 and xeen but haven’t been able to play a game since. The complexity of the game was what was so attractive – there were so many options as to where to go next and so many options on how to craft your party etc. It made up for the terrible story lines because the attraction was the puzzle of trying to find a path through the game. I liked that this was the main skill involved too. Combat was turn based and required little skill. All the skill was in where to go next. I hope this game recaptures this charm
