Logitech announced today, in an effort to cut costs, they will be discontinuing their console gaming peripherals business. The company cites that the console gaming peripheral business no longer fits their strategic direction.

This news comes on the heels of Logitech’s quarterly sales reports that showed the company making $615 million dollars. This sounds like a lot, but in fact, it is down 14% from the $715 million dollars made last year.

What do you think, do you use Logitech gaming peripherals? If you do are you sad to hear the company discontinuing their lines?

UPDATE 1/25/13 – Logitech has clarified that they will still be producing PC gaming accessories, it is only the Console accessories that will be discontinued.
