According to several investor notes from Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, holiday sales of the WiiU console at Gamestop have been “slightly disappointing”. ┬áThis is in stark contrast to the initial sales numbers reported in the middle of November of 400,000 North American sales and over 300,000 sales in Japan. However, the Deluxe version of the console has been selling better than the cheaper alternative. One can assume that this is due to the bigger storage capacity and the bundled version of Nintendoland. The investor notes also suggested weak software sales, but no specific information was provided.
