Hand of Fate is another Kickstarter success that was funded all the way back in December of 2013.  $54,000 and two years later, Hand of Fate has gotten a February 17th release date for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Hand of Fate is a mashup of deck-building, collectible card games, and RPG progression all wrapped up in a roguelike dungeon crawl.  The team at Defiant Development has added an interesting wrinkle to the genre with real-time combat encounters, too.

Collect weapons, armor, and accessories for your hero that become fully-modeled items to be used when confronted by enemies.  Hand of Fate’s tagline is “a card game that comes to life.”  From the gameplay at PAX, it looks like Defiant has nailed it.

Hand of Fate has been on Steam Early Access for some time now, and the feedback has been very positive.  If Defiant can effectively manage the many genres they’re mixing together, they could have a hit on their hands.
