GTA V PC Release Delayed, System Specs and Screenshots Released

Two weeks out from the slated release date of the Grand Theft Auto V’s port to the PC, Rockstar has announced a delay until March 24.  The Rockstar press release cites “a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as it can be,” as the reason for the eight week delay.  Along with the press release, Rockstar released several screenshots from the PC version as well as the port’s system requirements, which are both visible below.

Given the surplus of broken and bug-ridden games that plagued 2014, this delay, while disappointing, leads to optimism about the quality of the game’s port.  GTA IV’s port was universally criticized for poor performance, but Max Payne 3’s PC version was a marked improvement in optimization and ran smoothly with higher graphical fidelity than its console counterparts.  Rockstar has stated that the PC version of GTA V will support 4K resolution, triple monitor setups, and 60 frames per second.  This delay for optimization, along with the beautiful screenshots and reasonable system specs released, makes me hope that the PC version will be worth the nearly year and a half wait since the game’s original release on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Rockstar’s full statement can be read here.  The system requirements are as follows:
