FUSE_Dalton_Solo
Here’s what could be described as a reworking of the original announcement trailer for Insomniac’s new IP which was then known as Overstrike, where viewers were first introduced to Dalton and his team.

This new trailer, released under the game’s new title, Fuse, has a much more serious tone to the Overstrike trailer and seems to lack the spark that came with it. Without wanting to appear overly presumptuous of Fuse, it’s disappointing to think what could have been if Insomniac had gone through with its original theme and personality for Overstrike, which was originally conveyed via its announcement trailer. That trailer had a hint of Pixar’s hyperbolic hero movie, The Incredibles, mixed with a sprinkle of comedy reminiscent of Insomniac’s own Ratchet and Clank franchise.

With this latest trailer, it’s difficult to pin-point a specific area of excitement for a game that appears to have had its very soul removed and replaced with a much more conservative and ‘safe’ look and feel.

Fuse, developed by Insomniac Games and published by EA, will be released in March, 2013, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
