Recently, we got our hands on a preview copy of Madden NFL 12. Wow, it’s easily the most beautiful Madden yet! Character models look amazing. They closely represent the actual players right down to the facial features. Additionally, sideline shots of players and coaches bring you much closer to the game. Player’s celebrations and actions are very true to character, particularly Ray Lewis’ entrance and Aaron Rodgers’ Touchdown celebration. You can even see the grass fly up from the field when a receiver makes a catch along the sideline.

Another improvement in this year’s edition is the game controls. One big difference is the use of the right stick. The right stick is now used to call audibles at the line of scrimmage. It’s also used to send a man in motion. Defensively, the right stick is used to shift the line, linebackers and secondary. You can also fake the blitz and call audibles. Other improvements include 1 Button Press play calling. Simply pressing the A button will call the “Ask Madden” play. However the full playbook is still available for use, and is fully customizable. Mark your calendars, Madden NFL 12 drops on August 30, and is a definite must play!
