Square Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has experienced tremendous, and even overwhelming, growth. Due to unprecedented demand at launch, digital download sales of the game were suspended on August 28, 2013. The company has performed extensive maintenance on the game servers, increasing the number of servers available, as well as increasing the maximum limit of users that are able to play at the same time per World.

Square Enix hopes to have the issues settled as soon as possible to allow more people to play the game.
