Today, Microsoft has decided to try and provide some direction after an overwhelmingly negative response to the Xbox One unveiling. Microsoft has said that gamers, will in fact, not have to pay a free to reactivate used games. That fee will instead be paid by the retailer. However, this limits the people you can purchase software from because they will need to have an agreement with Microsoft to collect the fees. Either way, the messages have been muddy to say the least.

Microsoft has also said that an internet connection is required to play games. The system will perform an internet update every 24 hours to ensure the system is factory standard and legit. However, Microsoft has said that the exact time table for checks has not yet been set. They also mentioned that they are considering giving exemption passes for this internet check to certain groups that have limited access to internet. Soldiers serving oversees was specifically mentioned.

Gamers have not been happy about the news, but the executives at Microsoft know this and are planning to put all the speculation and disappointment to rest before E3. Let’s wait and see what happens.

Amusement parks have to be built and organizing it is almost a game in-and-of itself. Your city can earn money from admission but it is up to you to keep the park organized, doing so will ensure you get the biggest return on your investment.

SimCity is out now exclusively on Origin for the PC / Mac.

Today Chillingo, EA’s leading independent mobile games publisher, has announced that they will be partnering with Ninja Theory to publish a new mobile game for the iOS and Android, called Fightback. Fightback will be Ninja Theory’s first attempt at publishing a mobile game.

Fightback is a free-to-play, neon filled, action game with a “striking 80s action movie vibe and a revolutionary touch-based combat system.”

“Chillingo is very excited to collaborate with such a talented, critically-acclaimed studio to help shape their first title for the mobile market,” states Ed Rumley, COO, Chillingo. “Our team is working closely with Ninja Theory to ensure Fightback delivers a phenomenal experience for mobile and tablet devices.”

“Mobile and tablet gaming is a phenomenon that we just couldn’t ignore as a studio and we’re very proud to be working with one of the industry’s heavy-weights on bringing Fightback to market,” proclaims Dominic Matthews, Product Manager, Ninja Theory Ltd. “Ninja Theory has always strived for the highest production values and that absolutely remains the case in this exciting new space.”

Fightback is set for release sometime this summer. Previews of the game will be shown to the press at E3

A few days ago, Amazon showed off the placeholders for the new box art for Xbox One games. As it turns out, they aren’t that far off. Today, Microsoft released the box art for Forza Motorsport 5 and it shows off the final design of the game. We have to say that it looks a lot better than the 360 box art does now. A solid, consistent color scheme that works well with all art is definitely the way to go.

Atlus has just released a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV. Here is how Atlus describes the video:

The Eastern Kingdom of Mikado is a city of the chosen, sitting on high and protected all around by towering walls. Yet its people are at risk from an ongoing demon threat that the player as a newly appointed Samurai are duty-bound to fight against. Throughout the player’s journey, they must choose their own path. The choices will affect them, other NPCs, and the overall outcome of the story. Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
