Electronic Arts had a number of things to show us this year at E3 so let’s not waste time and get right into it.

Mass Effect 3 Preview
Pilot’s Impressions –  This game is going to be great and we got a preview of the game from the Microsoft conference but we got a little closer look in this conference.  It is going to be one of EA’s best games this year and for good reason.  I’m pumped for this and it was my 2nd most anticipated EA Title.  Look for this March 6th, 2012.

Need for Speed: The Run
Pilot’s Impressions – I came into this thinking that this was going to be another Need for Speed title but they did something really interesting.  They added foot chases to the driving.  This is a big risk because NFS is a racing title with cars but this could pay off and be the next big thing after Hot Persuit.  This found its way to my 3rd most anticipated EA title.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Pilot’s Impressions –  Again I am not a huge Star Wars fan but this seems like its going to be a great game.  It is an MMO which won’t appeal to anyone but I like how it is more a game within the Star Wars universe and less about specific characters.  This should be one of the better EA titles this year.

SSX
Pilot’s Impressions – They didn’t show off any game play and for that I think this was a disappointment.  I think it would have really added a lot of hype for this game with a game play demo instead of a cut scene.  It seemed to have a heavy arcade feel to it but we really don’t know anything about this aside from it’s being released in January 2012.  If Mass Effect could be ready to play now there is no reason SSX can’t be ready.

FIFA 12
Pilot’s Impressions – They promised a lot of changes to the series and I really didn’t see that much difference to be honest.  I think they are adding some new control schemes to the game and for those kinds of additions you have to play with them to get the idea.  For me this isn’t something I’m interested in but I think FIFA fans will appreciate the new game.

Madden 12
Pilot’s Impressions – If there was ever a time for the same old Madden, this year is it.  They really didn’t do anything to the game so if you care about the new box and roster updates then that would be the only reason to look at this.  Very disappointing.  Look for it on August 8th, 2011.

Sims Social
Pilot’s Impressions – They talked about a Facebook game which is interesting but since it is a Facebook game but as far as features, they really didn’t get into it.  If you like Facebook gaming then this should appeal to you but for the rest of the hardcore gamers, this is a pass.

Reckoning
Pilot’s Impressions – This is the premier game for Curt Schilling’s gaming company 38 Studios.  They have a solid team behind this and it looks good but since there wasn’t a live demo or really any information about the game there isn’t much to get excited about.  From the looks of it this is going to be a late 2012 release but that is just speculation.

Overstrike
Pilot’s Impressions – This is the latest project from the creators of Ratchet and Clank.  This is a new multi platform IP and from the looks of it, it should be cool.  The weapons look interesting and they definitely injected a fair amount of humor into a game, which is always a good thing.  I know I’ll be looking forward to more details on this later.

Battlefield 3
Pilot’s Impressions – We were finally treated to a real time demo of the game and it looks and sounds amazing.  It is really building and expanding upon the successes of the franchise and I am as excited as ever for this game.  This was clearly my number one most anticipated game of the conference and it didn’t disappoint.  Look for a demo in September and the release of the game on October 25th, 2011.

Pilot’s Overall Impressions
This was a strong conference for EA.  The line up looks great and there weren’t many disappointments.  I think there is a lot to get excited about and though I would have liked to see more original IP work, the line up is strong and give gamers plenty to look forward to and play in the next year.
