Everyone loves a good launch event to kick off a new game and Nintendo has the right idea for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D as they are partnering with the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens over Memorial Day weekend for a day filled with fun activities and giveaways.
Fans will get a chance to spend time with Donkey Kong and some of his friends from the animal kingdom at the L.A. Zoo this Memorial Day weekend. They’ll be able to experience a fun day with Nintendo at the zoo and play Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.
-Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive VP of Sales & Marketing
The four day event is family friendly and will feature an interactive experience at the Campo Gorilla Reserve, various demo stations to play the game, and coupon giveaways for $5 off the game at participating GameStop stores.
Another neat thing going down is the “Donkey Kong Interactive Experience” in which you can watch L.A. Zoo staff feed the gorillas from giant cardboard barrels (inspired by the Donkey Kong barrels) and a chance to take pictures with a costumed Donkey Kong character around the zoo.
So if you happen to be in the L.A. area between May 24-27, definitely swing on by the zoo. Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will launch on May 24, 2013 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
