Don Mattrick will be stepping down from his position as “Entertainment Business President” at Microsoft to join Zynga. He is presumed to be taking a high position at the company to work with founder Mark Pincus.

While not much else is known, sources are speculating that Mattrick’s departure could be revealed as soon as the stock markets close today.

Mattrick was in charge of promotions for the Xbox brand and it’s entertainment efforts. Just a few weeks ago, Mattrick was seen responding to reporters about the Xbox One’s old DRM policies by saying, “Buy an Xbox 360.” Whether this departure is to save face for Microsoft or not is unknown.
