Today, Disney announced their long-awaited answer to Activision’s Skylanders entitled Disney Infinity. Disney saw how Activision made a ton of money on Skylanders and they intend to enter the market. Disney Infinity will use physical toys that interact with consoles much like the Skylanders do already.
The pricing is as follows: Starter pack – $75; Play set pack – $35; Disney Infinity figure – $12.99; Figure 3-pack – $30; Power Disc pack – $5.
Avalanche Software will take the helm on this project and it is due in June for the Nintendo Wii and Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, plus plans for a mobile game.
