China’s 12-year console ban could be lifted causing Sony and Nintendo stocks soaring this morning. The state-run China Daily says that the Ministry of Culture is considering ending the ban on game consoles originally enacted in 2000. The thinking was that video games potentially harmed the physical and mental development of young people. If the original seven ministries were to open their doors to console makers, we could potentially see millions more consoles sold to the worlds most populous country.
