capcom announces strider at SDCC

Not content to let Firefly Online steal the show, Capcom has announced a brand new Strider game at San Diego Comic Con. Strider will be coming to Playstation 3, PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 4 and Xbox One courtesy of Double Helix Studios. You may recognize their name from the upcoming Xbox One exclusive Killer Instinct reboot.

Part of Strider’s enduring appeal has been blazing fast gameplay, married with deep environment traversal options. For the new game, Double Helix and our partner team in Osaka, Japan, concentrated on an ultra-responsive control system, with incredibly satisfying combat options in every traversal context — standing, running, wall climbing, hanging, aerial and more.

Other features mentioned are a deep, interconnected world and some system for upgrading Strider. Not much else is known, but the pieces are all together for a nice reboot. Check out some of the gameplay footage below and let us know what you think.
