Warner Bros. Games Montreal has come forward today to announce the next project they are working on, Batman: Arkham Origins. This game will take place before the last two games and it will be the first game in the franchise to not have Rocksteady games at the helm. The game will focus on Batman’s first encounters with many of his known enemies including the assassin Deathstroke.

At the same time, a 3DS and PlayStation Vita game will be released along side the new Batman Arkham title called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. This game will be released on the same day as the console and PC versions. Warner Brothers assured us that this is a “completely separate experience” and it will compliment the main console / PC experience. The new handheld title is being developed by Armature Studios.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25th for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360, and PC. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will also be released on October 25th for the 3DS and Playstation Vita.
