Warner Bros. Games Montreal has come forward today to announce the next project they are working on, Batman: Arkham Origins. This game will take place before the last two games and it will be the first game in the franchise to not have Rocksteady games at the helm.¬†The game will focus on Batman’s first encounters with many of his known enemies including the assassin Deathstroke.

At the same time, a 3DS and PlayStation Vita game will be released along side the new Batman Arkham title called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. This game will be released on the same day as the console and PC versions. Warner Brothers assured us that this is a “completely separate experience” and it will compliment the main console / PC experience. The new handheld title is being developed by¬†Armature Studios.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25th for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360, and PC. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will also be released on October 25th for the 3DS and Playstation Vita.
