Atari US has officially filed for bankruptcy today in US courts and the iconic video gaming company plans to liquidate their assets. Everything from the games, film rights and even the logo are some of the many items up for sale. This move is seen to be an attempt to become independent of its parent company Atari SA. The company hopes to use the liquidation sale to raise money to move into the mobile gaming market. Atari US wants to assure gamers that they intend on staying in the video game market and after they sell their assets, it will be back to making games.
