In a report from Joystiq, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced during an earnings call today that there will be a new Assassin’s Creed game coming in 2014. The new entry in the series will star a brand new hero, a new team that will accompany that hero, and a new time period. It also appears that the chapters within the game will be assigned to different teams in order to “make their versions of an Assassin’s Creed game.”
During the call Guillemot stated:
“In financial 2014, we will introduce an all-new Assassin’s Creed hero, within an all-new team and time period, and we expect it to be another major leap forward for the franchise.”
“It is the benefit of multiple teams, working on multiple chapters of the brand, each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin’s Creed game.”
While there’s not much information about the new AC game currently, there should be more information to come soon. Even possibly as soon as E3 2013.
